As they went round the next bend they came to a beautiful orange lake. "we have to find the boatman " said Harry, "to take us to Owl Island to see Old Hoot". |

So they walked along the bank for a few
yards and came across a strange sight, it was a funny looking raft made of
big pea pods all lashed together with a large mast made of cane and a big
blue sail, next to the raft was a large fat pink pig smoking a pipe,
"Hello Salty" said Harry "we need your services today, can you take us to Owl Island?" "yes it would be a good trip not many birds swimming today". "This is Aucky Duck", said Harry "he is from the Upperland and we want to see Old Hoot to ask how we get Aucky back to The Upperland".

"Ok jump aboard and let's be off", so they all got on the raft and Salty opened the sail and away they went, it was a very pleasant ride and Aucky saw the odd bird swim by, when all of a sudden Salty shouted, "a big flock of whale birds swimming off the port bow, hold tight as I try to skim past them" "they are very big" said Harry "they could tip the raft" but Salty was a good sailor and got round the whale birds and sailed on. |
